Adv. Groove, Sync, and Move
Lesson 11 of 15
8 MINS
This is where the real challenge begins! Let's take Groove, Sync, and Move to the next level by learning to create our own sequences of movement. It's the best way to turn the dance floor into a game that everyone can get involved in! Note: Module 3 is more difficult than those prior, so be prepared to take your time and repeat the videos as necessary.

Need some help? Chat with me!
You will learn:
  • How to put grooves and syncs into sequences
Homework
Create your own sequence to a Jive song by putting together some of the grooves you learned in Module 2 (or your own grooves!). Then try to create a slightly longer sequence to a Hip Hop song. If you can put together 3-5 grooves then you're doing great!
Weight Transfer and Contrast
Lesson 12 of 15
8 MINS
The key to unlocking an 'infinity mindset' on the dance floor is knowing how to modify any movement using weight transfer and contrast. This can turn one simple move into many variations, and can bring you even closer to the elements of music. This will also make you look a little more impressive on the dance floor if that's what you're going for! Note: Module 3 is more difficult than those prior, so be prepared to take your time and repeat the videos as necessary.

Need some help? Chat with me!
You will learn:
  • How to use weight transfer and contrast to create more options when you dance
Homework
Create a sequence of moves and apply weight transfer and/or contrast. You could go slower, longer, smoother, etc. Remember, it can be applied to the grooves themselves or between them, e.g. while moving around the space.
Genre Adaptation
Lesson 13 of 15
6 MINS
Dancing to one song is one thing, but dancing to many different songs is another. What if the DJ decides to change the music genre? You'll need to be able to adapt your moves and sequences. This is a unique skill that can really take your dance floor game to another level! Try this one with a friend.

Need some help? Chat with me!
You will learn:
  • How to use adaptation to keep dancing when the music genre changes
  • How to resync a groove and use weight transfer and contrast to help you adapt to the new music genre
Homework
Create a sequence to a Latin song and then adapt it to a Hip Hop song. You can resync your grooves and/or use a change weight transfer and contrast to achieve the adaptation.
Freestyling
Lesson 14 of 15
10 MINS
The biggest challenge for anyone on a dance floor - including professional dancers - is freestyling. That's coming up with moves on the fly that instantly match the elements of music, but which also continue to grow and develop. You'll need to use all of the skills you've learnt in the program to pull it off, and it might break your brain... BUT, all it takes is practice! Think of it as an opportunity to share your ideas with the people around you. It's not about looking cool, it's about feeling awesome.

Need some help? Chat with me!
You will learn:
  • How to use Colourform to freestyle when you're put on the spot, e.g. you're in a circle with others watching you
Homework
Play one of your favourite dance songs and try to use everything you've learned to help you freestyle. Remember to Groove, Sync, and Move as you go.
Masterclass 2
Lesson 15 of 15
7 MINS
This is it... the last lesson! I designed this final experience to replicate a real dance class scenario. You won't have to come up with the moves - that's what the teacher is for - but you will be challenged to keep up as the sequence gets longer and more complex. If you can master this lesson, then you'll definitely be ready to jump into a dance class in person. Or, you can always try one of the Masterclasses included in this package.

Need some help? Chat with me!
You will learn:
  • An entire dance routine that was created using Colourform
Homework
Replay this lesson as many times as you need. Then, when you're able to keep up with the whole routine, try a Masterclass from the package.
